About Me
I am a South Australian writer, editor, and editor with a passion for literature and creativity in every format. I hold a Master of Philosophy in Creative Writing from the University of Adelaide, where my thesis sought to write and define the Suburban Gothic genre in a specifically Australian context. I am currently working on a collection of short stories that prove that the Australian suburbs, despite a distinct lack of swooning maidens and crumbling castles, are inherently Gothic spaces. I have worked part-time as an editor at MidnightSun Publishing, where my annoying habit of correcting people's grammar could be put to good use and I am heavily involved in the Australian Short Story Festival each year.
When I'm not writing, reading, and researching for work, I'm usually doing these things for fun. Other hobbies include passive-aggressive emailing, pretending to know things about wine, and trying to become psychic by reading Tarot. I'll let you know when it starts working. In the meantime you can follow my blog, Love in the Time of the Pre-Apocalypse, here on my website, or find me on social media. Please see the "Contact" page for any questions, or to inquire about commissioned writing, editing, or proof-reading. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your stay. Gillian xx |
